NMM SoundBytes: Max Lee Shares a Bit of “History”

While I’m 95% sure my favorite track from Max Lee’s recent album Colors of Noise is “Open”, I’m back with a second SoundByte today because I keep playing his track “History” over and over today. Relatively certain I’ve listen to it at least 12 times today, I find it really energizing and decided that I couldn’t wait another day to share it with my loyal Farsighted readers.

Before we go any further, here’s a little bit of what you need to know about Lee. He’s young, artistic as all hell, and hails from New York City. His sound is unique and it’s all his own. While blending a variety of influences from Beck to The Beatles to dance music to Radiohead and more, he did everything himself.

I recorded everything on the album by myself. I mixed it , mastered it , and released it all on my own – and nobody helped me do it. There were a lot of people who made it possible, don’t get me wrong, but to me that shows a something about the individuality and uniqueness that we all have, and that when you set your mind to it – anything is possible. Nobody can really stop you from doing what you want to do but yourself.

What an awesome message to start out your week right. The only person to stop you from doing what use want is ourselves. Lee’s unique 18 track album is proof of this and his track “History” is deserving of heavy rotation for days, weeks, and years to come!

Justin has been running websites since his first Geocities site in 1994, but only did he ever start covering anything of substance years later. After he stopped regularly running local concerts in Northern NJ and the greater Philly area, he knew he needed to step up his writing game if he expected to continue to get free music to listen to. He writes regularly here and at Cinapse, as well as contributing to a few other sites on occasion. He likes music, film, the Philadelphia Eagles, the 76ers, talking about Criminal Justice, reading Intelligence Report, and his family... not in that order. His beautiful wife is far more talented than he is and his kids far more adorable... and crazy.
