Elliot Cole’s “Exit Row” is Face Melting Classical Music That’ll Have You Putting Up Your Devil Horns

One of the six composers for Terrence Malick’s VR experience, Evolver, which premiered at Cannes this year, Elliot Cole is not your average classical composer. With a truly contemporary sound, Cole recently joined forces with guitarist Jordan Dodson and cellist Gabriel Cabezas on a 5 song classical EP entitled Journals (Vol. 1) that somehow rocks harder than most rock coming out today.

Today, we present to you the closing track from Journals, “December 14 (Exit Row)”, a track where Dodson and Cabezas duel head to head to rock our faces off, Cole’s composition is not only technically proficient, but enthralling from start to finish. This isn’t your grandpa’s classical music, that’s for sure. Check out the video (below) and head to Spotify to head the whole EP.

Justin has been running websites since his first Geocities site in 1994, but only did he ever start covering anything of substance years later. After he stopped regularly running local concerts in Northern NJ and the greater Philly area, he knew he needed to step up his writing game if he expected to continue to get free music to listen to. He writes regularly here and at Cinapse, as well as contributing to a few other sites on occasion. He likes music, film, the Philadelphia Eagles, the 76ers, talking about Criminal Justice, reading Intelligence Report, and his family... not in that order. His beautiful wife is far more talented than he is and his kids far more adorable... and crazy.
