In the streaming age, weirdos such as myself have the world of weird cinema at their fingertips. I’ve seen so much, I often joke that I’m dead inside. I mean that in a variety of ways from seeing so much gore that numb, to seeing so much weird, that not much phases me. Pirie Martin’s Psychosis manages to tickle the weird craving in a memorable and inventive way considering the small budget.
Cliff Van Aarle (Derryn Amoroso) is a shadow of a man. Broken down from his abusive father, Cliff suffers from Paracusia, a form of auditory hallucination that involves perceiving sounds without stimulus, and can commonly feature one or more talking voices, known specifically as an auditory verbal hallucination.
On top of all that, He works as a fixer in the criminal underworld, and he’s just been hired by 2 drug dealers who claim they were attacked by zombies. As Cliff searches for answers, he gets pulled into a surreal world of hypnosis, psychedelics, and conspiracy that threatens to break his already fragile sanity. Needless to say, Psychosis is a RIDE you will not want to miss.
