You May Not Have Heard About PSYCHE Yet, But It’s a Real Sci-Fi Gem

Although Psyche falls just short of full feature length, Stephon Stewart’s charming sci-fi gem delivers full length enjoyment.

Mara (Sarah Ritter) awakens to find herself in a barren desert landscape, completely alone except for an old (seemingly portable) computer that talks to her far more intelligently than any Siri or Alexa. Over the course of the film, Mara must face her past, her fears and complete a series of challenges if she hopes to make it home alive.

Credit where credit is due, Sarah Ritter carries the film as Mara, the protagonist and only human for the majority of the film. Her outstanding performance brings life to some of the slower portions of the film and keeps you watching. Mark my words, Ritter is an actress to watch.

If you enjoy character studies that make you examine your own life choices, but still have a satisfying pay off, then you need to see Psyche.
