Erik & the Worldly Savages BREAK FREE with “Thunder” in their “Hearts”
It seems like just a couple of months ago, The Farsighted was reviewing Erik & the Worldly Savages’s EP, Break Free!. This is because it was only a couple of months ago… and this is because Erik Mut just can’t stand making and releasing great folk-punk tracks in the vein of Greg Graffin, Chuck Ragan, and other great recent solo projects from punk rock greats. While Erik Mut may not be one of the household names that I mentioned above, his songwriting, musicianship, and punk rock ethos rival anyone’s. But, for Mut, the recipe is more than just the stripped down folk-punk of these greats, but a gypsy punk and alternative infused sound that’s something unique and fresh.
On FUTURE THUNDER VOID, the brand new EP from Erik & the Worldly Savages, we get 6 more stellar tracks of the unique blend of folk-punk, gypsy punk, and music from all over the globe. The lead single – “Thunder in Our Hearts” – is accompanied by a music video featuring the mischievous yet earnest look of wide eyed Mut as the narrator of a fun story reenacted by a cast including the rest of the band.
