Ass-blasters in the Arctic? Graboids in the Great White North? Welcome to A COLD DAY IN HELL

I got a little more than I was expecting when I opened my advanced screener for the newest installment in everyone’s favorite series about giant underground worms. Instead of just a copy of A Cold Day in Hell, I was treated to a 6 movie set of EVERY Tremors movie. Needless to say, I went on a graboid marathon. Let’s dig into the meat of A Cold Day In Hell.

Good Ol’ Burt Gummer (Michael Gross, Family Ties) is summoned from Nevada to deal with yet another graboid outbreak. For the second time in the series, Burt is joined by his long lost son, Travis (Jamie Kennedy, Malibu’s Most Wanted, Son of the Mask) – not the son of Heather Gummer (Reba McIntyre). This time they’ve traded their typical desert locals for an isolated Arctic research station. Graboid, shrieker, and ass-blaster mayhem ensues.

Honestly, This is the most entertaining Tremors film in years. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it’s not over the top campy either. Kennedy tones down his normal obnoxious behavior and plays well against Gross’s eccentric, gun-loving, survivalist. So if your looking for a monster movie with decent acting, effects and enough monster guys to keep you watching, then this is the DVD/Blu-ray for you.
