Black Reuss’s METAMORPHOSIS: Beauty in Darkness

Black Reuss is epic melancholy. Big, bombastic, cinematic soundscapes with contemplative lyrics and brooding vocals – Metamorphosis is the metallic soundtrack of inner struggle, artistic vision, and inward investigation. With a lead track that is accompanied by a moody, beautiful music video, the 13 track album is sure to hit with fans of hard rock that balances epic doom and symphonic hope.

Black Reuss is Maurizio Dottore. Dottore handles all compositions, production, lyrics, and performance – making Black Reuss a one man band. Based in Liechtenstein, Black Reuss’s music feels distinctly existential in feel, living and dying in the moment, literally existing in the now. Dottore describes the heaviness of the music as a heaviness he has carried with him his whole life.

The beautiful, dark, and heavy album is available now on Spotify and his music video for “Incomplete” is below. You can also find more on Black Reuss on blackreuss.com. Fans of dark and ominous music with a ray of hope shining through are sure to find this one among their new faves. A symphony of dense and hulking heaviness that retains its beauty from start to finish, Metamorphosis is a great release that comes highly recommended.

Justin has been running websites since his first Geocities site in 1994, but only did he ever start covering anything of substance years later. After he stopped regularly running local concerts in Northern NJ and the greater Philly area, he knew he needed to step up his writing game if he expected to continue to get free music to listen to. He writes regularly here and at Cinapse, as well as contributing to a few other sites on occasion. He likes music, film, the Philadelphia Eagles, the 76ers, talking about Criminal Justice, reading Intelligence Report, and his family... not in that order. His beautiful wife is far more talented than he is and his kids far more adorable... and crazy.
