Mr. Missy was “Looking for You” and He Didn’t Even Realize It

Mr. Missy isn’t an Osmond, but he sure is a little bit country and a little bit rock n’ roll. As with both country and rock, the greatest songs are about love and lust and all the things in between. So, it’s no surprise that Looking for You is exactly that. Marc Robichaud, aka Mr. Missy himself, explains that the album is all about finding “the one”.

The album is the true story of one man not realizing what he was looking for was right in front of him.

With influences ranging from bluegrass and country to Americana folk to southern rock to the classics of the 50s and 60s, Mr. Missy’s sound would fit well on modern pop, country, and rock radio stations. There’s an undeniable country flair, but the various other elements bring the sound into a realm far more reaching and broader than standard country music.

The title track to the album (video below) is a perfect place to start.

If you – like I – struggle with modern country music, this may not be fully for you. However, I urge you to give it a try, as Robichaud and his band of musical misfits craft some great tunes. The album, designed to be listened to as a story from front to back, works both as a unified vision and as strong individual tracks if you prefer your music in smaller doses.

Justin has been running websites since his first Geocities site in 1994, but only did he ever start covering anything of substance years later. After he stopped regularly running local concerts in Northern NJ and the greater Philly area, he knew he needed to step up his writing game if he expected to continue to get free music to listen to. He writes regularly here and at Cinapse, as well as contributing to a few other sites on occasion. He likes music, film, the Philadelphia Eagles, the 76ers, talking about Criminal Justice, reading Intelligence Report, and his family... not in that order. His beautiful wife is far more talented than he is and his kids far more adorable... and crazy.
