NMM SoundBytes: Brooklyn’s NTHNL is Flute with “Heart”
Ontogenesis, the follow up to NTHNL’s Cosmic Flute Rides Again was conceived by NTHNL himself – Jacob Rudin – and his yoga instructor Leslie Graves. Their goal was to come together to “create an album whose main purpose was to be a meditation accompanying yoga work”. Suffice it to say, that’s exactly what this album feels like. And, while sonically, musically, and tonally much different than the previous NTHNL album, it’s pretty fantastic.
I listened and listened to decide with track to present to you today as our New Music Monday SoundByte selection… and I ultimately chose “Heart” (below):
While any track on this album is a worthwhile choice – and the album should be experienced in totality if you have the time – “Heart” just hit my in my soul as I was listening again this morning. Drifting off into an ambient space, the track evokes the very notion of having a meditative soul. It’s beautiful, relaxing, and inspiring.
Start your day with a palate cleanse from NTHNL by devoting a mere 3 minutes to “Heart” (above) or head over to any of NTHNL’s accounts listed below to check out more.
