Weekend Work and Contemplation Jam: Gianfranco Pescetti’s “The Wake”
Some weekends are for raucous fun, others for grueling yard work, and others yet for catching up on writing, web design work, and resetting focus. For this particular writer on this particular weekend, the goals for the days off of the 9-5 are to balance between buckling down on computer projects and allowing time to reset, relax, and clear some mindspace. Thus, loud bangers, singalong anthems, and upbeat beatdowns aren’t the vibe for this particular early May weekend. Instead, Gianfranco Pescetti has entered the conversation and his contribution to the vibe is nothing short of stellar.
When I write, read, or work on the numerous web projects I (over)commit myself to, I need instrumental music that will center and focus me. At times, that music is accompanied by some medical assistance in whatever form feels most appropriate at the time… and, at times, a sober mind is truly necessary. However, with either mindset, good tunes are a must. The latest single from international nomad and artist Gianfranco Pescetti – “The Wake” – is a perfect backdrop to join the likes of Air, the instrumental edition of Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture, instrumentals from Cosmopolis, Spencer Elliott, and several others on a playlist that will power this weekend and many more to follow.
