Never2Late is Never2Wise When it Comes to Love
Admittedly, I’m not always a supporter of the “can’t we all you get along” message. People will spout off intolerant bullshit and immediately try to brush it off as just their “opinion”, saying it’s okay to disagree. In fact, this very song I’m about to sing the praises of even uses the dreaded “agree to disagree” line, which seems to most often be used by the same crowd that starts each sentence with “no offense” before spouting off awful hate speech. However… a message of tolerance is actually a great message when the heart of that message is about love, rather that simply an excuse to spout off filth.
Enter Never2Late, Yorkshire England’s blues rock veteran SteveB’s rotating cast of rockers with a message of strength and love. “Love is Wise” is rooted in the words of the heralded mathematician, wise philosopher, and noted pacifist Bertrand Russell.
The song is a retooled and rerecorded version of a song SteveB wrote several years ago, but its message of tolerance and love is one needed as much or more now than when it was first release. With a bluesy rock sound that is reminiscent of his countryman Mark Knopfler or American rockers Canned Heat, or even more modern blues rock like Jack White or the Black Keys, the song has a decided delta influence and a fantastically catchy beat. The music paints a great backdrop for SteveB’s message.
The song dropped last month on Spotify and SoundCloud. You can also check out more from Never2Late at their website.
