War

When guns fire loud
The world divides
One side cheers
The other jeers
Both wave flags
For or against
Patriots of difference
No one is safe from opinions
That’s the rub, man
Just a real big pissing contest
But in this one people die
Mothers lose sons and daughters
Wives lose husbands
Husbands lose wives
Enemies become friends
Friends become enemies
Bombs create ratings
TV shows victories and fear
Cultures demonized
Force fed on propaganda and slogans
Protests enable cliques
Truth becomes grey and unsorted
Kindness dies on verbal battlefields
Then we arise from ashes bruised
Bloody and dazed
But we make due together
Humans are stronger than their ideals
Life goes on
War
