SoundBytes: Shawna Virago Finds Hope in a “Heaven Sent Delinquent”
Catchy as hell, playful, clever, and full of positivity – “Heaven Sent Delinquent” is an anthem for the outsider, channeling the hate and push back of society into something bigger and better. Shawna Virago does it again with another catchy song that screams out against an oppressive society through positive vibes. I consider myself lucky to have been able to cover her for another site a few years ago and again today for The Farsighted. In fact, I feel a distinct pleasure to get to share her latest music video with you as today’s SoundByte.
Shawn has been a pioneer for trans rights and LGBTQ rights at large. One of the first out trans performers touring in the music scene, she paved the way for countless others after her and continues to push boundaries. As a published author, her work on gender, love, and relationships is well respected and cited around the world. As a film festival director, she also programs films that push limits and envelopes to create more space for LGBTQ people around the world. Her resume is nothing short of brilliant and her positive approach is infectious.
