NMM SoundBytes: The Sound of 1985 Returns with Les Techno’s “Closer Look”

As soon as “Closer Look” begins, it’s impossible to ignore the 80s vibe. Is that a Simple Minds B-side? Something off of a Tear for Fears side project? No… it’s Les Techno, the kickass producer/DJ/musician we’ve introduced you to before.

This new track is a true blast from the past that is hard to dislike, especially for 30 and 40 somethings who truly learned to love music during the era of The Breakfast Club, New Wave hairdos, and Say Anything. Whether you’re hungry like a wolf or you want to rule the world, you’ve gotta check this one out.

It may be the time of year for Christmas tunes, but I suggest you take a break from the holly jolly ear candy and tune into this nostalgia inducing alternative track.

Justin has been running websites since his first Geocities site in 1994, but only did he ever start covering anything of substance years later. After he stopped regularly running local concerts in Northern NJ and the greater Philly area, he knew he needed to step up his writing game if he expected to continue to get free music to listen to. He writes regularly here, at Cinapse, and at Rock on Philly... as well as on occasion at Cinepunx. He previously wrote for several other sites, but he forgets some of them and others no longer exist. He likes music, film, the Philadelphia Eagles, talking about Criminal Justice, reading Intelligence Report, and his family... not in that order. His beautiful wife is far more talented than he is and his kids far more adorable... and crazy.
